Wedding cupcakes are a hit with brides.  Maybe it’s the wide choices of flavors, the beautiful displays, the cost or how easy they are to serve.  But whatever the reason, more and more brides are choosing cupcakes instead of the traditional wedding cakes.

With more budget cautious brides and the trend of having a less formal affair, these cupcakes make a hit.  Many brides want a gorgeous wedding cake but find the cost to be overwhelming and difficult to fit in their budget.  Bakers traditional charge about $4.00 and up per slice.  You can see how this can get quite expensive.

I’m not saying cupcakes are much cheaper.  Some cupcakes may take just as long to decorate and may contain expensive ingredients, but there are different ways to decorate cupcakes that can lessen the cost.  You don’t need to go with the butter cream icing florets, fresh flowers or pieces of fruit can really make the cupcakes unique and inexpensive.  So cupcakes can be cheaper ($2-$4/cupcake) and a great option!  Additionally, the reception venue usually charges a fee to serve and piece the cake.  This will be reducing if not eliminated with a cupcake wedding dessert.  Plus the presentation of the cupcakes can be a conservation piece in itself at your wedding reception.  The choice is up to you; have a traditional wedding cakes or the unique trendy option of cupcakes?

Sexy Bridal Hair for Springtime Weddings

You will spend most of your planning time on reception and reception decorating, that’s where all the celebrating occurs.  So where do you begin?

1) Select a theme.  That’s the easiest way to achieve a elegantly decorating reception hall.  When you choose a theme, it allows you to narrow down your decorating scheme.  Themes can be created by a color you love, movie you enjoy or a place you have been too.

2)  Evaluate your reception space.  Take pictures of your reception hall, so that you can sit back and view what areas would be best suited for certain aspects of your wedding reception.  Find out where the reception manager normally sets up the tables.  Can you changes this or does the normal way work well for you?  Where can the band or DJ set their stage?  Can you move anything around to better suit your needs?

3)  Work within your budget.  You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to achieve an elegant look for your reception hall.  Most reception venues will have a large selection of decorations that can be used, some may even be FREE so ask!  Start shopping early, for those great sales.

4) You will want to get a lot of ideas for the decorations, so you’ll need to do some research. Bridal magazines and the internet are great areas to start your research.

5)  Express your personality through the decorations.  A truely successful wedding is a wedding that is an extension of the couple.  This may help you select your theme!

There are so many different types of wedding cakes a bridal couple can purchase.  Besides the different flavors, come brides may decide to go with a cupcake wedding cake or an assortment of different pies as their wedding cake display.  Whichever your preference, you will find what you are looking for on our wedding directory.  Wedding cakes are often used as the main dessert at the wedding reception, so make sure to taste the different flavors your pastry shop has to offer so you are not disappointed.

Depending on your local customs, a portion may be stored, and eaten by the couple at their first wedding anniversary, or at the christening of their first child. This portion is the traditional the top tier, but sometimes it is a portion of the piece from which the bride and groom fed each other. Ask the baker at your pastry shop if the cake you have selected can be frozen and stored if that is your wish.
